During the past week I have been working on designing a logo to use and conceptual work from my discussion with Phoebe at the end of studio last week.
We started class today by looking at some examples Phoebe had brought in and they were really inspiring but also really daunting. They were all really clever and said a lot through image and then had a very small tagline to contextualise the poster. I want to have that kind of success with my poster design but I think I will need to refresh some ideas and put on my thinking cap as to how I can make impact subtly.
Anyway, we then moved on to showing our peers what we had been working on and then had to pick a best development from our group to present to the class. My group liked the development I'd made on my "chokehold" poster by zooming in/cropping so they presented it. Both lecturers seemed pleased that I'd been playing with the FADP's and trying different things and I got some really helpful feedback from both lecturers and peers.
I was also able to get feedback from my peers on my logo designing work which was really helpful and I intent to work on it and have it finalised for class tomorrow.
We briefly went to the presentation room to look at a pinterest board of poster design using text/image.
HOMEWORK: pick 3 and analyse them - what you like/don't like, why you picked them/what made them stand out, what is interesting about the typography/how has it been used.
